Six years at sea
put into practice.
An independent occupational health practice built specifically for people whose jobs depend on a fitness certificate.
Dr C.U. Oosthuizen
Dr Oosthuizen spent six years at sea as a senior ship's doctor before moving into occupational health. He has treated the injuries, managed the repatriations and worked the rosters that a fitness certificate is meant to anticipate, which is a different thing from reading about them.
He completed the University of Cape Town Diploma in Occupational Health as top-performing student, receiving the Geoff Campbell Book Award, and has been assessing seafarers, divers and offshore personnel in Johannesburg since 2022.

Approvals held.
Registration and approval details are confirmed in writing to employers, agencies and regulators on request.
Built for one job.
You know who sees what
What we share is set by the consent you give, and the form tells you before you sign. Cruise line assessments are usually reviewed in full by the company's shoreside medical team. Nothing is released beyond that consent, and everything is processed in line with POPIA.
The three things a fitness certificate has to be worth, to the person carrying it and to the company relying on it.
